Who should sign up for this workshop?
This course is for anyone who completed Part 1 of the series. This second installment of the SoGrizz Quilting Beginner’s Series will build on skills learned in part 1, and start to add some new techniques.

Reserve your spot by sending an email to sogrizzquilting@gmail.com (or through our contact page). Send your name and contact details and date of workshop, and we will confirm asap.

What skills will you learn?
You will of course get plenty of time to practice and perfect your measuring, cutting, stitching and pressing skills, but we will also be introducing appliqué and curved seams, and the useful technique of fussy cutting. As you practice you will also continue to learn more about the workings of the sewing machine.
There are a few different appliqué techniques such as turned-edge and reverse appliqué, but in this class, we will focus on raw-edge appliqué. You will have the chance to draw your own simple pattern and select materials to match the design.
You will then be shown how to sew curves, which are a little bit more difficult than straight seams, but not a problem after a bit of practice! Again, you will be able to design your own block of curvy seams and pick out the materials to match.
For both the appliqué and curvy seams block, you will be provided with various examples, in case you need some inspiration for the design. And of course, you can even use one of mine.

What will you make?
Once you have created your appliqué block and your curved seams block, you will be shown how to put it all together to create a handy tote bag.

Materials provided and included in the price:

All fabric needed, including fusible interfacing;
